Join us for an engaging evening at Bier Brewery, for “From the Taproom to the Tech Boom: What AI Means for Hoosiers.” This community conversation brings together a panel of faculty experts from Indiana University Kokomo. Dr. Patrick Motl (physics), Dr. Yang Liu (computer science), and Dr. Paul Cook (rhetoric and digital media) will explore the rapid rise of AI, from how large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT actually work to what these tools mean for our everyday lives, workplaces, and communities. We’ll discuss the science and engineering behind AI, as well as the many complex cultural questions it raises about ethics, education, commerce, faith, freedom, and the future.
